Czech republic legal and justice system

Czech Legal System
The Czech legal system is a “continental” legal system, more specifically, due to common historical roots, it can be said it belongs to the “Germanic” legal culture.

As in other democratic and legal countries, the Judiciary of the Czech Republic is defined by the Constitution of the Czech Republic in such a manner that courts fulfill their mission as independent institutions.

Criminal Law in the Czech Republic is codified. The main statutes are the Criminal Code (40/2009 Sb.– Collection of Laws) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (141/1961 Sb., as amended)
